SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES AND THEIR ANOMALIES IN PERU (EL NIÑO AND THE SOUTHERN OSCILLATION).

The decrease in the Peruvian sea surface temperature continued. According to the last IMARPE report with reference to SST, we found temperature values in the Peruvian coast for the central-northern zone in a range of 18ºC and 22ºC in the first 60 miles, and for the central-southern zone between 18°C and 20°C, which would confirm the cooling we are going through.

According to the last NOAA report (22/04/2024) we have in average anomalies for El NIÑO 1+2 region a value of -0.6°C. In ENSO 3.4, according to the last report also, we have +0.7°C on average. Which would confirm the progress of Pacific sea cooling.
